Features of Ozonia's Technology

Advanced Technology ("AT") ozone generation equipment offers users market-leading performance and Ozonia¢®?s well-proven design/technology for generating ozone from oxygen. The main features of our technology are set out below - many of these are unique to Ozonia.

The major advance came when "AT" was commercialised in 1991. The adoption of "non-glass" dielectric material, combined with Ozonia¢®?s standard practices, resulted in the following advantages:

¢®Y  Compared to conventional dielectrics, ozone can be generated at much higher concentrations which

dramatically reduces oxygen consumption and, consequently, operating costs. Additionally, oxygen

storage on site is either reduced or fewer gas deliveries are required.

¢®Y  "AT" dielectrics are very robust. Of the over 50'000* installed since 1992 less than 0.3% have ever

      failed.

¢®Y  The operating voltage of approximately 4000 V is much lower than that of conventional equipment

increasing the reliability and the service life.

¢®Y  Vessels are compact as a result of the high ozone production per unit area of electrode and contain

     fewer tubes than conventional systems.

¢®Y  The generators are horizontal in layout and are floor mounted allowing easy inspection via viewing

ports and, if required, convenient access for maintenance.

Power Supply Units (PSUs)

Ozonia designs, manufactures key components and assembles its own PSUs to achieve:

 ¢®Y  Standardised Units.

 ¢®Y  State-of- the-art power electronic components.

 ¢®Y  Robust solid-state systems

¢®Y  Wide regulation range giving stable, stepless operation down to < 10% of capacity.

¢®Y  Highly reliable production control by varying the electrical energy.

Each high-voltage dielectric assembly is fitted with its own fuse

Accidents, human error, unexpected failure of plant components and sub-quality feed gas can never be completely ruled out. However, the fusing of each electrode assembly ensures the isolation of any defective assembly from the other tubes, thereby allowing the operation of the ozone generator to continue without interruption. Full and "safe" ozone production can be maintained even with a number of assemblies isolated, enabling the plant to continue to operate normally until a maintenance shutdown is convenient. This not only enhances the availability (drastically reducing the need for stand-by units) but also the safety of the whole plant.
